What if we could minimise queuing and crowding at festivals, ensuring a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for every attendee?

To reduce queuing at public venues, leveraging crowd monitoring and direct communication technologies to deliver seamless, enjoyable attendee experiences.

So how are we doing it?

Partnering to redefine crowd management

In the dynamic world of festivals, ensuring participants’ well-being and enjoyment is crucial.
However, overcrowding is a major challenge because managing complex crowd movements in large venues demands exceptional skills.
Telenet, Tomorrowland, and Outsight are collaborating with EntertainmentLAB to demonstrate through a Proof of Concept (PoC) how real-time crowd monitoring and communications can enhance festival experiences, improve security, and streamline operations.

Elevated experiences with advanced crowd monitoring

The solution will leverage crowd density monitoring, Spatial AI software and real-time communications with selected attendees to inform them about stage services and program, boost safety, reduce overcrowding, and decrease queuing issues.
The PoC will be live-tested at a designated stage area over two weekends at the Tomorrowland festival.
The PoC uses LiDAR technology to measure crowd density and Rich Business Messaging (RBM) to facilitate dynamic interactions with attendees, all without the need for a mobile app.

The tangible value of crowd monitoring

Telenet will be testing Rich Business Messaging, the next generation of message systems, to support safer and better experiences for the event organiser and festival goers.

Tomorrowland will experiment with real-time crowd management solutions to enhance festival-goers' experiences and boost security.

Outsight will extend its current offering to large-scale festivals and open new partnership opportunities in the Belgian market.

All three partners will evaluate the potential of real-time crowd monitoring to enhance user services and explore new business opportunities

If all requirements are met after system installation and testing, the PoC will be executed during the Tomorrowland festival. This will provide insights to enhance festival-goer experiences and optimise crowd management.
